To make this drink, some calyces of it is usually boild like the tae in most cafes. But the best karkadyya is not boiled. In a cafe, they want to make it fast so that they boil it to extract easily. But the real karkadyya must be put in a water and kept almost all the day long.. never boiled.
After extraction, it is added in hot or cold water with little suger. That's the best one.
